Open-S coupler system explained at Intermat 2024
Steelwrist CEO Stefan Stockhaus shortly explains the Intermat Innovation Award winning Open-S system for automatic excavator couplers. Open-S is a common standard for the hydraulic interface between machine couplers, tiltrotators and/or tools. This definition entails that the quick couplers that follow the standard are compatible between different manufacturers and products. The interface builds on the established, symmetrical quick coupler standard for excavators (the S Standard) developed by machine suppliers. Open-S does not define the technical solutions incorporated in quick couplers or products, but rather ensures that the quick couplers from different manufacturers are compatible with one another. Open-S is completely machine and system independent, which means continued freedom of choice to define different functions and additional features in the systems.

could do the same job with my 3 t digger and tilt bucket. I'm yet to see a good use for the rotation bucket! waste of money and all they do is spend half the job rotating it instead of doing the job lol pointless

The way the tilt cylinders connect to the lower part doesn't look like a very strong connection.
bert26a Hello the Tilt cylinders are not connected to the lower hitch at all, the new design uses rams this allows the rams to be mounted in a fixed position. allowing you to tilt and still keep the complete unit straight with out the cylinders leaning out. the rams push down equally with full machine pressure from the auxiliary hydraulics. i have used the unit and can say its a great little thing.
